Official Philanthropy - The Saint Jude's Foundation

          St. Jude was founded in 1962 by the late entertainer Danny Thomas with the hopes of providing a hospital where children from all over the world, no matter what race, religion, or financial status, could come for their cancer treatment. Through generous donations over the past forty years, St. Jude has been able to develop protocols that have helped push overall childhood cancer survival rates from less than 20 percent, to over 80 percent.

          Each year, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital treats an average of 5,700 patients - all of which have their treatments completely paid for through donations made to St. Jude.



          In August 2007, the brothers of Phi Delta Chi made the commitment to raise $200,000 over four years. We achieved this goal in April 2009 and had the honor of having St. Jude's outpatient pharmacy named after Phi Delta Chi. Druing the 67th Grand council this past summer, Phi Delta Chi voted to continue to support St. Jude Children's Research hospital to raise $1,000,000 in the next ten years.

 

          The University of Texas Lambda chapter of Phi Delta Chi is proud to be one of the strongest fund raising chapters and will continue to raise money for St. Jude this coming year through Kick-Out Cancer, our Prescription for Hope campaign and much more!
